The Recycling Industry Plant Operator Training Scheme (RIPOTS) was established to:

Standardise training across the recycling industry.

Provide employers within the industry with recognised qualifications for plant operators.

Ensure that employers are able to meet the need to reduce risk and comply with insurance requirements.

Recognise the skills and abilities of operators to work safely and efficently in what can be an hazardous environment.

To meet the requirements of ever changing health & safety legislation.
For some time the recycling industry has been devoting resources for the development of health & safety advice and guidance. This has certainly increased awareness and re-vitalised the industry’s commitment to improve its safety performance.
